Microtunneling

When precision is required and there is no room for error, URBA have a number of custom built, laser guided Micro Tunnelling Machines, which are capable of boring from 500mm – 2400mm in diameter.
Established in 1982 in Grafton NSW , Under Road Boring PTY LTD started boring using custom built boring machines, which were designed and built in house. In the early 80’s, URB completed numerous road, creek and driveway crossings utilising these machines for a number of different customers.
In the late 80’s URB won a contract within the Grafton region to install a number of stormwater crossings using RCJP. At this time, URB designed and manufactured its very first Mirco Tunnelling Machine and completed the contract on time and budget. At the completion this contract, and testing of the method, a number of other machines were custom designed and built for numerous contracts Australia wide.

In 2016, Under Road Boring Australia PTY LTD was formed, with all employees still with the company. URBA is still family owned with the Founding Director of URB still having a hands on approach to all design and fabrication of machines along with working on the ground completing contracts.
